We are excited to officially welcome Dr. John Parker as the new CVSD superintendent! We are grateful to the nearly 800 parents and staff who made their voices heard during the search for a new superintendent.
Now, together with the superintendent and district administration, we are beginning to work on a new strategic plan to roadmap the district’s goals and actions over the next five years—and we want to hear from you! We are pleased to announce a series of “Community Conversations” as well as opportunities for “Meet and Greets” with the School Board and new superintendent for parents to have conversations and provide input as part of the process.
OPPORTUNITIES TO GIVE YOUR FEEDBACK
We have already begun gathering feedback with a telephone interview survey reaching 1,000 parents and guardians of CVSD students to understand what priorities they have for their children’s education.
Throughout the summer and fall, School Board directors and CVSD leaders will attend community events at the Spokane Valley and Liberty Lake farmer’s markets, Greater Spokane Valley Chamber, Valleyfest and more. They will be available for conversations and welcome you to visit them there.
From August through November, we will also host a series of “Community Conversations” at schools across the district to meet with parents and get their thoughts to inform the five-year strategic plan. Save the dates now.
Find all up-to-date information and dates of when to catch the School Board and superintendent in “Community Conversations” at www.cvsd.org/communityconversations/, which will be updated periodically. Here you can also find School Board contact information and reach out to CVSD administration with any questions or comments. We look forward to hearing from you!
